Good evening

We are currently considering changing our current hosting and are interested in flexiscale.

However in the past we have always just purchased multiple machines/firewalls etc to have total control as we have always been limited by VPS etc

Couple little questions.

What is the security between virtual servers, does each customer get there own subnet which there computers can sit on ?

Also the main question is about the external perimeter, can we lock access via Firewall rules (your hardware)? Also are we able to create VPN's using your hardware firewall without using the VPN functionality of Windows ?

Look forward to your answers

Thanks

Shane

Each customer sits on their own subnet with their own VLAN, so all traffic between their individual servers is secure.

There is a beta test of the firewalling service going on at the moment, which you are welcome to join (we expect to release it to all customers in late March). This allows you to set external access rules via a web interface (and soon an API interface as well I believe).

In terms of terminating VPN's on our own equipment rather than on the servers this isn't something that is currently offered, although we may do so in the future.

Look forward to your answers

Thanks

I hope they were useful, if I can be of any further assistance please let me know.

Tony.

I am still unclear about whether iptables is usable within the virtual server, regardless of your firewalling service (I don't see why not!). Would you clarify that for me?

Thank you,
Geoff

I can confirm it is usable, rules on the seperate firewall will of course supercede it if the traffic is going out of your VLAN.

Tony.
